Dear God, I come before you humbly and acknowledge that everything I have and everything that makes me different is a gift from you. I recognize that I have received so much from you, and I am grateful for all of it. Please help me to remember that I am not self-made, but rather, I am a product of your grace and mercy. Keep me from boasting or taking credit for things that are not mine to claim. Help me to use the gifts you have given me to serve others and bring glory to your name. Amen.
Verse: For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn’t receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
1 Corinthians 4:7
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not boast about their abilities or talents, as they were given to them by God.
