Prayer based on Proverbs 18:19. Themes: Offense, Disputes, Forgiveness

Dear Lord, we come before you today with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom. We know that a brother offended is more difficult than a fortified city, and disputes are like the bars of a fortress. We ask that you help us to be patient and understanding with one another, to seek reconciliation and forgiveness when we have wronged each other. Give us the strength to break down the walls of pride and anger that separate us, and to build bridges of love and understanding. Help us to be peacemakers in our families, communities, and the world around us. We pray that you would bless us with your grace and mercy, and that you would help us to live in harmony with one another. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: A brother offended is more difficult than a fortified city.Disputes are like the bars of a fortress.
Proverbs 18:19

This is a Command. The verse is advising the reader to be cautious in their actions towards their brothers, as offending them can be more difficult to overcome than a fortified city. It also warns that disputes can create barriers and obstacles in relationships. Therefore, the command is to be mindful of one’s actions and words towards others, especially brothers, to avoid causing offense and disputes.
