Dear Lord, I claim the promise that my eyes will stay open through the night watches, so that I may meditate on your word. I pray that you will give me the strength and the focus to stay awake and to immerse myself in your truth. May your word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, guiding me through every step of my journey. I trust in your promises and I know that you will never leave me nor forsake me. Thank you for your faithfulness and for the gift of your word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that the speaker’s eyes stay open at night so that they can meditate on God’s word. It is not giving a command to the reader.
