Dear God, please help us to not be like our stubborn and rebellious ancestors. May we not follow in their footsteps of disloyalty and unsteadiness with you. Instead, may our hearts be loyal to you and our spirits steadfast in your ways. Guide us to be a generation that honors you and seeks your will above all else. Amen.

Verse: and might not be as their fathers— a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that didn’t make their hearts loyal,whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
Psalms 78:8

This is a Command. The verse is a warning to not be like the stubborn and rebellious generation of the past, but to make one’s heart loyal and steadfast with God.
