Praying from Psalms 137:4. Themes: Exile, Faithfulness, Restoration.

Dear Lord,

We find ourselves in a foreign land, far from the comfort of our homes and the familiarity of our surroundings. It is difficult to sing your praises in this place, where everything feels so unfamiliar and strange.

But we know that you are with us, even in this foreign land. We know that you hear our prayers and our songs, no matter where we are. So we ask that you give us the strength and the courage to sing your song, even in this place.

Help us to remember that your love and your grace are with us always, no matter where we go. And help us to share that love and grace with those around us, so that they too may come to know you and sing your song.

We trust in your goodness and your mercy, and we know that you will guide us through this foreign land. May our voices rise up to you in praise and thanksgiving, even in the midst of our struggles and our doubts.

In your holy name we pray,

Amen.

Verse: How can we sing Yahweh’s song in a foreign land?
Psalms 137:4

This is a Command. The verse is a rhetorical question that implies a command to the reader to not forget their homeland and their faith while living in a foreign land.
