Prayer based on Matthew 23:3. Themes: Obedience, Hypocrisy.
Dear Lord, help me to always listen to and observe the teachings of those who guide me in my faith. May I follow their words and put them into action in my life. But please also give me the discernment to recognize when their actions do not align with their teachings, and to not follow in their footsteps. Help me to be a true disciple of your teachings, both in word and in deed. Amen.
Verse: All things therefore whatever they tell you to observe, observe and do, but don’t do their works; for they say, and don’t do.
Matthew 23:3
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to observe and do whatever they are told to do, but not to follow the actions of those who do not practice what they preach.
