Prayer based on Luke 4:21. Themes: Salvation, Fulfillment, Redemption.

Dear Lord,

As I come before you today, I am reminded of the promise you made to your people when you walked on this earth. You began to tell them that the Scripture had been fulfilled in their hearing, and I claim that promise for myself today.

I believe that your word is true and that you have fulfilled all that was written about you. I trust in your promises and know that you are faithful to fulfill them.

So today, I claim the promise that you have fulfilled the Scripture in my hearing. I pray that you would open my ears to hear your voice and to understand your word. Help me to live in the truth of your promises and to trust in your faithfulness.

Thank you for your love and grace, and for the promise of salvation that you have fulfilled through your death and resurrection. May I live each day in the light of your truth and the power of your Spirit.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: He began to tell them,“Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
Luke 4:21

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that the Scripture has been fulfilled in the hearing of the reader. It is not giving a command.
