Dear Lord, I claim the promise that all who came before you are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them. I pray that I may always listen to your voice and follow your ways. Protect me from the lies and deceit of the enemy and guide me on the path of righteousness. May I always trust in your unfailing love and grace, knowing that you are the only true shepherd who leads me to green pastures and still waters. Thank you for your faithfulness and for being the one who lays down his life for his sheep. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

John 10:8

This is a Promise. The verse is a statement that those who came before Jesus were not true leaders and the sheep (followers) did not listen to them. It does not contain a command or instruction for the reader.
