Prayer based on John 10:12. Themes: Shepherd, Ownership, Protection

Dear Lord, please help me to be a true shepherd to those around me. May I not be a hired hand who abandons the sheep in times of trouble. Give me the courage and strength to stand firm against the wolves that seek to harm those under my care. Help me to protect and guide them with love and compassion, as You have done for me. Amen.

Verse: He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them.
John 10:12

This is a Command. The verse is a warning to those who are not true shepherds to not abandon their responsibilities and flee when danger comes.
