Dear Lord, may we always have deep roots in you, so that when the heat of life comes, we will not be scorched and withered away. Help us to stay connected to you, to draw strength and nourishment from your word and your presence. May we be firmly planted in your love and grace, so that we can bear fruit that lasts. Thank you for being our source of life and hope. Amen.

Verse: When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away.
Matthew 13:6

This is a Command. The verse is a warning to ensure that one has a strong foundation in their faith, or else they will wither away.
