Praying from 1 John 3:17 relating to Compassion, Generosity, Love

Dear God, please open my heart to those in need around me. Help me to be generous with the resources you have blessed me with and to show compassion to those who are struggling. May your love always remain in me and guide me to be a source of hope and support for others. Amen.

Verse: But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
1 John 3:17

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to show compassion to their brother in need if they have the means to do so, or else they cannot claim to have God’s love within them.
